From the beginning of 1370, the export of agricultural products, especially the strategic products of the province (apples and grapes) started dramatically from Urmia to the neighboring countries, including: Turkey – Central Asian countries – Azerbaijan and Bulgaria – Germany and Romania, and within three to four years reached its highest level. As the province of West Azerbaijan won the first place in the export of agricultural products in the country, for this reason, the need to create an organization for the exporters of agricultural products was fully felt. Until 2018, the Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union was formed with 56 members and until now, its activities in the field of marketing – sending trade delegations – helping to design and present modern packaging of all kinds of fruits and vegetables, informing and participating In domestic and foreign exhibitions – creating healthy competition between members and controlling target markets, participating in working group meetings related to the export and import of fruits and vegetables in the province, inviting foreign delegations to visit members’ facilities and get to know them and establish business relations Fimabin, obtaining the necessary permits for transportation, banking, quarantine, and presenting opinions of the union in national development programs and sincere interaction with the government sector for the development of non-oil exports of the province and regulation of the country’s fruit and vegetable market, active participation in the board of representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, mines and agriculture of Iran and Urmia and agricultural organizations and commissions, preparing members’ files to receive export awards and sending them to government organizations, obtaining permission to build a specialized fruit and vegetable export terminal in the northwest of the country, etc., which is one of the most important activities.
